SSA summer programs are designed with working parents in mind. Full-day camps include lunch and free before-care, plus optional paid after-care. Bus transportation is offered to Fox Chapel camps from the North Hills and East End. PK-9 programs include:

Day Camp Discovery (K-5, Fox Chapel): In this traditional day camp, kids enjoy a full day of activities including swimming, tennis, media arts, outdoor adventure, theater and more. Special activities such as competition days and Friday picnic dance parties add to the fun. Six weekly sessions are offered from June 17 through July 26.

East End Explorers (PK-2, Point Breeze): At this day camp geared toward younger kids, campers enjoy traditional day camp experiences such as water play and outdoor games as well as safe, fun adventures in the city. Six themed weekly sessions are offered from June 17 through July 26, with half- and full-day options.

Camp Ren (6-9, Fox Chapel): In this innovative day camp just for middle schoolers, campers enjoy greater autonomy and can choose from cool activities such as robotics, cooking, filmmaking and theater. An optional leaders-in-training program is available for rising ninth graders. Three two-week sessions are offered from June 17 through July 26, with weekly enrollments also available.

Sports Camps (K-8, Fox Chapel): Led by SSA coaches, these camps enable kids of all ability levels learn a new sport or enhance their skills. Weeklong coed camps in basketball, golf, ice hockey and tennis are offered.

Focus Camps (K-9, Fox Chapel): These camps allow kids to focus on a single interest or specific skill for a full week. Camps include drama, chess, mindfulness, sports & games, needle art and sewing.

NEW! Drobots STEM Camps (K-8, Fox Chapel): These camps enable kids to utilize imagination, hand-eye coordination and STEM applications to conquer challenges and missions in a team-oriented environment. Thirty weeklong camps are offered all summer long in drones, coding, Minecraft, video games, mobile apps and more.

Summer School (2-8, Fox Chapel): Classes feature small class sizes and individualized attention from the area’s finest teachers. Elementary classes include language arts and math, while middle school classes include literature & composition, math and study skills. A “Stay & Play” option allows kids to pair summer school classes with day camp for a full day of learning and fun. (Note: Registration for high school summer school classes for grades 9-12 will open in February.)
