Parks Department Announces 2018 Hometown Hoops Mini-Camps

38 free basketball mini-camps include free box lunch for participants

The Allegheny County Parks Department today announced its annual Hometown Hoops Mini-Camps for ages 9-18 will be held June 11-August 2 in 12 communities. The 38 basketball mini-camps are free and will take place 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, at the locations listed below. A free box lunch will be provided at noon during each mini-camp by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services through its SummerFood Program. Participants may attend as many mini-camps as they like. Proper basketball attire is required.

Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee that every child receives a lunch. Parents or guardians may register participants online at www.alleghenycounty.us/parkprograms or by calling 412-350-2455 at least 24 hours in advance of the mini-camp their children plan to attend. In case of inclement weather, call 412-350-2455 to confirm if a mini-camp is taking place.

The Hometown Hoops Mini-Camps are funded through a grant secured by Allegheny County Economic Development. For more information, www.alleghenycounty.us/hometownhoops.
