New Funding Initiative: Advancing Black Art in Pittsburgh

The Heinz Endowments and The Pittsburgh Foundation are introducing a new grant initiative to begin next year. "Advancing Black Art in Pittsburgh," is a grant program that focuses on building the careers of artists, strengthening cultural organizations and increasing the community’s awareness of the Black arts sector.

This program builds on the foundations’ past investments in the Multi-Cultural Arts Initiative and provides a platform to continue to address issues of diversity and equity within arts and cultural grant-making programs.

The two foundations expect to have detailed program guidelines and application forms ready by early January 2011. Please check back to the website after the first of the year to view the application.

Contact Janet Sarbaugh at the Endowments or Germaine Williams at The Pittsburgh Foundation if you have any questions.
