“Lest We Forget”
October 18-November 15, 2019
Cathedral of Learning Lawn, University of Pittsburgh (4200 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15260)

Additional portraits are featured at the Carnegie Museums in Oakland and Jennie King Mellon Library at Chatham University.

Lest We Forget is a public-facing outdoor exhibit that features giant, high-resolution, intimate photographs of Holocaust survivors from around the world. The exhibit will feature 16 never-before-seen portraits of Pittsburgh-area survivors.

Lest We Forget has been displayed in several international high-profile locations, including the headquarters of the United Nations and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The exhibit is coming to Pittsburgh to commemorate one year since October 27, 2018, when Pittsburgh was the site of the largest antisemitic attack in United States history. The portraits confront passers-by as a reminder of history and to raise awareness of the hatred and bigotry present in society today.

This exhibit is made possible in Pittsburgh by a partnership between the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh.
