Bidwell Training Center Named School of Excellence by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges for Second Consecutive Time

Bidwell Training Center is one of 15 accredited institutions out of more than 650 to receive the prestigious 2017 ACCSC School of Excellence Award.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) recently announced Bidwell Training Center (BTC), an affiliate of Manchester Bidwell Corporation, as a prestigious School of Excellence.

The School of Excellence Award is designed to recognize an ACCSC-accredited institution for their consistent commitment to the expectations and rigors of the accreditation process, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality educational programs and services to students and graduates. As part of the recognition process for this award, ACCSC conducted a comprehensive assessment of a school’s educational programs and student services, and required the school’s graduate employment records to be verified by an independent agency. Additionally, in recognition of BTC’s outstanding performance in ACCSC’s accreditation process, as a 2017 School of Excellence, BTC qualified for an additional sixth year grant of accreditation, an honor reserved for ACCSC’s highest-performing institutions.

BTC, founded in 1968, will soon be celebrating 50 years and has been accredited by ACCSC since 1995. BTC previously received the School of Excellence award in 2012 making this the second consecutive time BTC receives the award. Again, this year, BTC exceeded minimum outcomes in the October 2017 ACCSC Annual Report by achieving an average aggregated graduation rate of 79 percent and an average aggregated verified job placement rate of 85 percent.

“Bidwell’s committed faculty and staff strive to offer the highest caliber of career training to prepare graduates for meaningful employment opportunities throughout Western Pennsylvania,” said Valerie Njie, Executive Director and Senior Vice President of BTC ( pictured). “We were a 2012 School of Excellence and are thrilled to be acknowledged again for our efforts over the past five years. As we celebrate our students’ success and changed lives we also applaud the impact that their achievements make on families, communities, and the workplace.”
